We successfully added 20+ targeted edge case functions to tests/edge_cases/test_core_edge_cases.py

Our test reorganization strategy is perfectly validated! We now know:
1. Exactly which files need more coverage tests
2. Which specific lines are missing coverage
3. Which test files to enhance for maximum impact
4. How to maintain clean test organization while improving coverage
The combination of function-level test consolidation + coverage-driven test strategy gives us the best of both worlds: clean organization AND strategic coverage improvement!
